Programme Duration: The Programme is for a period of one year (one academic session).

The management of the institution University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) is using this medium to invites applications from suitably qualified candidates, for admission into any of the following one year Pre-degree Programmes in the Faculties of Humanities and Education, for the 2016/2017 Session.

(iv) Teaching subject – Computer Science Five O’Level credits in

English Language, Mathematics, Physics/Chemistry Science and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above

3. Educational Management (Education Social Science) EDM

(i) Teaching subject – Economics

Five O’Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, one of Government, Commerce, Geography and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language, Mathematics, Economics and other subject from the O’Level subjects listed above.  
(ii) Teaching subject – Political Science Five O’Level credits in English Language, Government or History, one of Economics, Commerce, Geography and any other two O’Level subjects listed above, plus at least a pass in Mathematics. (ii) Teaching subject – Geography Five O’Level credits in English Language, Geography and other three O’Level subjects, listed above, plus at least a pass in in Mathematics English Language, Geography and any other subject from the O’Level subjects listed above.  
(iii) Teaching subject – Accounting Five O’Level credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics,   and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above English Language, Economics, Mathematics, and any other one subject from the O’Level subjects listed above.  
4. Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counseling Five O’Level credits in

English Language, and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above

5. Adult and Non-Formal Education Five O’Level credits in

English Language, and any other four subjects applicable to the specific Teaching subjects as in EDF, EDM or CSET.

French Preparatory

[FPP]

English Language, French and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language, French and any other two Subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. (i). For successful candidates from the Pre-degree Programme, credit in French is not compulsory.

 

(ii) The Certificat d Etudes Francaise, 2 Degree, is acceptable as a Credit Pass in French.

3. Linguistics and Communication Studies [LCS] English Language and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.  
4. Religious and Cultural Studies [RCS] English Language and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language and any other three Subjects from the O’Level l subjects listed above.  
5. Theatre and Film Studies English Language, Literature-in-English and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language, Literature-in-English and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.  
6. Music [MUS] English Language and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.  

 How to Apply for UNIPORT Pre-Degree Admission – 2016/2017

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Application Forms can be obtained online on payment of a non-refundable fee of 11, 000.00 (Eleven Thousand Naira Only). Applicants should log on to www.uniport.edu.ng. Click on Application Procedure for more information.

The names on candidates’ O’ Level Certificates must be the same as what is filled online. Any false information given automatically disqualifies the applicant.

NOTE WELL: All candidates wishing to transit to the Degree Programme, in addition to the required 5 Credits, must

  1. Pass the prescribed Pre-Degree examinations
  2. Have the appropriate Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subject combination and
  3. Must have the National Minimum Score in the 2017/2018 UTME and must have chosen University of Port Harcourt.

Materials Needed for the Screening Exercise
Candidates are required to come with the following and be at the Venue of the examination at 8.00am
– A clear copy of Photocard printed online
– Biro, HB pencil, eraser
– Non  Programmable Calculator

UNIPORT Pre-Degree Admission – 2016 Aptitude Test Date

Subsequently, the University aptitude test to screen candidates into the programme is rescheduled for Saturday, 19th November, 2016.
