UNIPORT 2015 Pre-Degree Programmes Admission Form is Out

university of port harcourtUniversity of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT FACULTIES OF HUMANITIES AND EDUCATION PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMMES ADMISSION APPLICATION form is now on sale for 2015/2016 academic session.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates, for admission into any one of the following one year Pre-degree Programmes in the Faculties of Humanities and Education, for the 2015/2016 Academic Session.

UNIPORT PRE-DEGREE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should possess WASSC/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB Ordinary Level with credit passes in at least 5 relevant subjects. See Table below for further detail

2. French Preparatory[FPP] English Language, French and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language, French and any other two Subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. (i). For successful candidates from the        Pre-degree Programme, credit in French is not compulsory. 

(ii) The Certificat d Etudes Francaise, 2 Degree, is acceptable as a Credit Pass in French.

3. Linguistics and Communication Studies [LCS] English Language and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.
4. Religious and Cultural Studies [RCS] English Language and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language and any other three Subjects from the O’Level l subjects listed above.
5. Theatre and Film Studies English Language, Literature-in-English and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language, Literature-in-English and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.
6. Music [MUS] English Language and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.

(iv) Teaching subject – Computer Science Five O’Level credits inEnglish Language, Mathematics, Physics/Chemistry Science and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above English Language, Mathematics, one Science subject and other subject from the O’Level subjects listed above.
3. Educational Management (Education Social Science) EDM(i) Teaching subject – Economics Five O’Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, one of Government, Commerce, Geography and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language, Mathematics, Economics and other subject from the O’Level subjects listed above.
(ii) Teaching subject – Political Science Five O’Level credits in English Language, Government or History, one of Economics, Commerce, Geography and any other two O’Level subjects listed above, plus at least a pass in Mathematics. English Language, Government or History and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.
(ii) Teaching subject – Geography Five O’Level credits in English Language, Geography and other three O’Level subjects, listed above, plus at least a pass in in Mathematics English Language, Geography and any other subject from the O’Level subjects listed above.
(iii) Teaching subject – Accounting Five O’Level credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics,   and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above English Language, Economics, Mathematics, and any other one subject from the O’Level subjects listed above.
4. Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counseling Five O’Level credits inEnglish Language, and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above English Language and three other subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.
5. Adult and Non-Formal Education Five O’Level credits inEnglish Language, and any other four subjects applicable to the specific Teaching subjects as in EDF, EDM or CSET. English Language, the teaching subject and two relevant subjects applicable to the specific Teaching Subjects as in EDF, EDM or CSET.
6. Human Kinetics and Health Education Five O’Level credits inEnglish Language, one Science subject preferably Biology, and three other subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language one Science subject and two other subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.

 

UNIPORT PRE-DEGREE COURSE DURATION

The Programme is for a period of one year (one academic session).

 

UNIPORT PRE-DEGREE METHOD OF APPLICATION

Application for the various Programmes is online. Log on to www.uniport.edu.ng and follow the instructions.

  1. Application Forms can be obtained online on payment of non-refundable fee at the designated Banks below, nation-wide, as follows:

Inconsistency in Name is not accepted to the University and may lead to disqualification, Candidates’ names on their O’level certificates, UTME results and other registration documents must be the same.

 

UNIPORT PRE-DEGREE CLOSING DATE

The sale of Application Forms will close on Friday, 18th September, 2015.

 

UNIPORT PRE-DEGREE APTITUDE TEST

The University Aptitude Test will take place on Monday, 28th September, 2015.

NOTE

All candidates wishing to transit to the Degree Programme, in addition to the required 5 credits, must

  • Pass the prescribed pre-degree examinations
  • Have the appropriate Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subject combination and
  • Have the National Minimum Score in the 2015/2016 UTME

 

UNIPORT PRE-DEGREE Materials needed for the Screening Exercise:

Candidates are required to come with the following and be at the Venue by 8.00am.

  • A clear copy of Photocard printed online
  • Biro, HB Pencil, Eraser
  • Non-programmable Calculator (Programmable Calculators of the FX – 991ES Series, Mobile Phones, IPOD and similar gadgets are not allowed at the screening venue).
