We are glad to inform the general public that the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) Business School Professional Postgraduate programmes admission application form for the 2016/2017 academic session is out and available for sale.

The management of the Ilorin Business School (IBS), University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) is using this medium to invite application from suitably qualified candidates for admission into their various Professional Postgraduate programmes for the 2016/2017 academic session.

Ilorin Business School (IBS), University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) Professional Postgraduate Programmes

1. Master of Business Administration (Executive) (MBA Executive).
2. Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Full- Time or Part -Time).
3. Master of Geographic Information System (MGIS).
4. Master of Industrial and Labour Relations.
5. Master of International Studies (MIS).
6. Master of Public Administration (MPA).
7. Master in Health Planning and Management (MHPM)Postgraduate
8. Diploma in Geographical Information System (PGDGIS).
9. Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy (PGDIAD).
10. Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM).

 

• Master of Business Administration (MBA) Executive

The duration of the programme shall normally be a minimum period of six (6) semesters, and a maximum period of ten (10) semesters. Students will attend lectures on weekends. They also expected to come in for two (2) weeks during long vacation for intensive academic work. The available areas of specialization include: Accounting, Marketing, Personnel Management, Finance, General Management, and Operations Management.

• Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The duration of the Programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 24 calendar months and a maximum period of 36 calendar months for Full Months for Full-Time; and a minimum period of 36 calendar Months and a maximum period of 48 calendar Months for Part -Time. Areas of specialization include: Accounting, Marketing, Personnel, Finance, General Management and Operations Management.

• Master of Geographic Information System (MGIS)

The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar Months and a maximum period of 24 calendar Months. This Programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.

• Master of Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR)

The duration of the programme shall mormally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar Months and a maximum period of 30 calendar Months. Areas of specialization include: Labour Management Relations, Personnel and Human Resources Management; industrial, Conflict and Dispute Resolution; and Labour Law. This programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.

• Master of International Studies (MIS)     

The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 30 calendar Months and a maximum period of 45 calendar months. Lectures hold fortnightly. The available areas of specialization include: International Economic Relations; Foreign Policy; Strategic Studies Diplomacy and International Politics.

• Master of Public Administration (MPA)     

The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar Months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months. Areas of specialization include: Public Finance, Budgeting, Personnel Management, Public Policy and Development Administration. This programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.

• Master in Health Planning and Management (MHPM)

The duration of the programme shall be a minimum of twelve months and maximum of forty eight calendar months.

• Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information System (PGDGIS)

The duration of the programme shall normally be a minimum period of 12 months and a maximum period of 18 calendar months. This programme is available on Full-time basis ONLY.

• Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy (PGDIAD)

The duration of the programme shall normally be a minimum period of 30 months calendar months and a maximum period of 45 calendar months. The programme runs on weekends and fortnightly. The available areas of specialization include; International Economic Relations; Foreign Policy; Strategic Studies; Diplomacy and International Politics.

• Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM)

The duration of the programme shall normally be a minimum of 12 calendar months and a maximum of 18 calendar months. This programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.

 

UNIlorin Business School Professional Postgraduate – General Entry Requirements

• Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Candidates for admission into the MBA Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Holders of professional qualifications such as ACA, ACMA AIB ACIS, CIBN, ACTS or HND (Upper Credit) must possess a postgraduate Diploma Certificate in Strategic Management from the University of Ilorin with a Minimum average weighted score of 60%. All candidates should have at least Five (5) Credit Passes at the Ordinary Level (O/L), Including English Language and Mathematics irrespective of field of study.

• Master of Geographic Information System (MGIS)

Candidates for admission into the MGIS Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Holders of professional qualifications such as HND (Upper Credit) with a minimum of five (5) years post -qualification experience are also eligible to apply.

• Master of Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR)

Candidates for admission into the MILR degree Programme shall normally possess a honours degree of the University of Ilorin, or from any other recognized University.

• Master of International Studies (MIS)

Candidates for admission into the MIS professional degree Programme shall normally possess a Bachelor’ Degrees in any discipline with atleast a Second Class (Honuors) from the University of Ilorin, or any other recognized University.

• Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Candidates for admission into the MPA degree Programme shall normally possess a minimum of Third Class Honuorsdegrees in any discipline from the University of Ilorin, or any other recognized University.

• Master in Health Planning and Management (MHPM)

A candidate to be admitted shall:

1. Hold an honours first degree in Health Planning and Management, or related field, OR Have an honours degree in a discipline other than Health Planning and Management, plus at least 3 years experience in Health Planning, Research and Statistics or other relevant Departments after graduation, OR Hold an honours first degree in other discipline, but must in addition, possess postgraduate certificate or Diploma in Health Planning and Management or related fields from recognized Institutions; OR A pass degree in Health Planning and Management or related discipline, plus 3 years experience OR Any other qualification approved by senate of the University.
2. a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division in any of the above. In addition, all candidates must have O’ level credits in English and Mathematics or their equivalents.

• Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information System (PGDGIS)

Candidates for admission into the GIS postgraduate diploma Programme shall normally possess a recognized Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Third Class Honours or HND (Lower Credit) or their equivalent, in Geography, Environmental Science, the Sciences, other Social Science, Forestry, Engineering, Architecture, Town Planning etc. Notwithstanding the above, candidate with substantial work experience who have attained managerial positions may still be considered for admission on individual merit.

• Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy (PGDIAD)

Candidates for admission into the postgraduate Diplomain International Affairs and Diplomacy (PGDIAD)Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of PASS grade from University of Ilorin or any other recognized University or HND with at least a Lower Credit.

• Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM)

Candidates for admission into the postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM) should normally possess Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification such as ICAN or HND certificate with a minimum of Lower Credit from recognized Institutions.

Cost of Application fees: Application fees for all programmes is ₦25,000.00 only.

Application Forms are to be completed on-line and will close on Monday, 15^th August 2016.

Note that the latest date for receipt of supporting documents is Wednesday, 17^th August 2016. Successful applicants would be notified by e-mail.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

All applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Degree Programmes will be subjected to a written assessment (qualifying examination) irrespective of the class of degree obtained. The qualifying examination will be held at the Ilorin Business School, (beside Student Union Building) University of Ilorin on 20^th of August 2016 at 9:30am. There will be no formal letters of invitation to candidates for the Qualifying Examination as this advertisement will serve as the invitation.
