UG, The Kofi Awoonor Literary Prize Registration Form

university of ghana 1We are glad to inform the general public that The University of Ghana (UG), Kofi Awoonr Literary Prize Registration Form is out. There will be one major prize of GHȻ 5000 and two consolation book prizes.

The management of The University of Ghana, The Department of English, under the sponsorship of the Kofi Awoonr Family and Chief Dele Momodou of Ovation International magazine, announces the establishment of The Kofi Awoonor Literary Prize. The biennial competition will initially alternate between significant collections of Poetry, Prose and Essay, the three literary genres in which Professor Awoonor distinguished himself.

Who are Eligible for The Kofi Awoonor Literary Prize

To be eligible to win the Prize;

  • The person must be an African
  • The person must currently registered student of the University of Ghana or must have graduated within the past five (5) years (2011-2016).

 How to Apply for The Kofi Awoonor Literary Prize

ENTRIES

For the maiden edition, each participant must submit four (4) copies of a full-length collection of Poetry, published (between 2011 and 2016) or unpublished. Unpublished works must be typed, double spaced and in Times New Roman12point font size.

SUBMISSION

Published works and hard copies of unpublished works (in Microsoft word format, printed on one side of A4 sheets and soft-bound) should be submitted under registered cover to:

The Kofi Awoonor Literary Prize Application Closing Date

All interested candidate should note that the closing date for the submission of manuscripts is June 15, 2016.
