This is to inform the general public and all the interested candidates that the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Master of Science in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership & Air Transport and Aviation Management for the 2018/2019 Academic Year is still on.
Master of Science (MSc) in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the Master of Science (MSc) in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership. The programme, as validated by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology School of Business, is an intensive and balanced academic and practitioner-relevant programme of study for career development in the field of Corporate Governance. The programme will inform and equip students to effectively respond to the many governance challenges that organisations in the private and public sectors face today.
The KNUST School of Business, in partnership with the IFC, has created this programme to deal with all topical issues in corporate governance globally and in the Ghanaian context, in particular. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be able to solve complex governance and compliance problems in the modern business environment with a sound understanding of the relevant laws, regulations, stakeholder expectations and international best practices of good corporate governance and social responsibility. In addition, the structure of the programme enables candidates to enhance their risk management skills. The knowledge and expertise acquired from MSc (Corporate Governance & Strategic Leadership) is crucial for candidates who participate in the dynamic management of both private and public organizations.
Flexible Progression & Exit Route
Even though the programme will eventually lead to the MSc. in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership, students can register and access some courses in the programme and terminate at various stages and be given credits for what they have covered. The programme therefore allows students to cover the following postgraduate and certificate level courses:
- Post Graduate Certificate in Corporate Governance
- Post Graduate Certificate in Strategic Leadership
- Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership
- MSc in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership
Duration
The duration for the programme shall be three semesters.
Mode of delivery
The programme will be delivered on weekends through the modular system at the KAISWAM in Adjiriganor, Accra.
Admission Requirements
The minimum requirements for entry into the MSc degree in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership shall be in accordance with the requirements specified and stated on the KNUST website or printed handbook as well as in the Statute and Regulations for Master of Science degrees of the KNUST. Applicants must possess an Honours Degree from a recognized University or institution of higher learning.
Applicants with Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership shall be given exemptions or credits up to the number of courses they have already taken.
Applicants with postgraduate Certificate in either Corporate Governance or Strategic Leadership or both shall be given exemptions or credits up to the number of courses they have already taken.
Applicants with certificates in any of the courses under the MSc in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership programme from the KNUST shall be given exemptions up to the number of courses already taken.
Candidates must attend and pass an interview conducted by the relevant Department
Master of Science (MSc) in Air Transport and Aviation Management
Applications are also invited from suitably qualified candidates for the Master of Science (MSc) in Air Transport and Aviation Management. The programme forms part of the Ghana Urban Mobility and Accessibility Project (GUMAP) of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) with sponsorship from the Swiss Economic Cooperation (SECO). As a result, the process of developing the programme included a series of consultations with several stakeholders, including the two KNUST Colleges of Engineering, and Art and Built Environment, the MLGRD, EPFL and SECO.
Target
The programme targets young and mid-career professionals specializing or seeking to specialize in Air Transport and Aviation Management. Graduates of the programme will fit into the Air and Aviation Industry; Transportation Ministries; Private Transport Operator Organizations; Transportation Planning and Urban Planning Firms; and Academic and Research Institutions in Ghana and in Africa.
Duration
The duration of the Master programme is 12 calendar months (1 year), starting in August, 2018 (Students will complete a project/thesis in six months).

Admission Requirements
The following shall be admission requirements for prospective students:
A minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) degree or its equivalent in Business, Economics, Engineering and the Sciences, and any other field of specialization relevant to the programme from a recognized University.
Applicants whose working language is not English must show proficiency in both spoken and written English. Where necessary, arrangements will be made with the Department of Languages of the University to offer a proficiency course in the English Language prior to embarking on the programme and relevant field experience will be an advantage.
Mode of Application for both Programmes
Candidates must purchase an eVoucher by paying an application fee of Two Hundred and Twenty Ghana Cedis (GH¢220.00) at the following banks: GCB, Ecobank or uniBank. Upon payment of the application fee, candidates will receive an eVoucher containing an application number and PIN that will grant access to the online admissions portal. Candidates should then proceed to online admissions website: https://apps.knust.edu.gh/admissions/ and begin the application process. Once the process has been completed, candidates must print out 3 copies of the completed application form from the portal and submit them (by post) to the School of Graduate Studies along with all relevant documents (Photocopies of Certificates, Recommendation Letters, and [Transcript for those attending KNUST for the first time]) to the following address:

NB: Additional copy of the application form and all relevant documents should be sent to
the following email address: admin.ksb@knust.edu.gh. Deadline for the submission of application forms is Friday, 17th August, 2018. Application forms submitted after the deadline will not be processed. Only candidates who successfully gain admission will be notified subsequently.
NB: All International Applicants must apply online. International applicants who are
admitted will be required to pay an application fee of USD 200.00 before registration.
